Nigerian excellence is one of the fundamental elements that make up the universe. Nigerians are too good everywhere, both in good and bad. Fortunately, we’re celebrating the good.
Meet Captain Ademilola Odujinrin who is a pilot with Djibouti Air. He just broke a world record.
Recently, he became the first African and Nigerian to fly around the world solo.
This basically means he flew an entire aeroplane around the world by himself! He started his journey in September last year and completed it on March 29th in Washington DC.
Odujinrin visited over 15 countries on 5 continents during his journey.
The historic flight is part of Project Transcend which aims to inspire African youth to achieve their dreams regardless of personal circumstances. Of his feat, Odujinrin had this to say:
Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of one day flying around the world. We have a responsibility to lead by example and follow our dreams. I want African children to think: ‘I can do this too!
Nigeria was not left out in celebrating him.
Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo tweeted this photo after meeting the pilot with the caption:
Keep breaking barriers Nigerians!
