Indian Hemp Truck Driver Abandons 'Goods' on Sight of Police The seized indian hemp slabs

The Akropong Divisional Police Command has a impounded a Kia vehicle with registration number WR 3991 – 14 suspected of carting slabs of suspected Indian hemp concealed in branded sacks.

Chief Superintendent Charles Kofi Adu, the Police Divisional Commander of the area, said the police while on their usual patrol duties on the Adukrom – Asseseso road, bumped into the said truck with a total of 5,040 slabs of suspected to be Indian hemp.

The police spotted the nervous behavior of the driver who was heading to Somanya Junction from Asseseso around 7pm but suddenly stopped and removed the key to the vehicle, escaping with the occupants.

When the abandoned car was inspected, the police found 35 bags of suspected Indian hemp, 64 bags of cement and 84 sacks with each containing 60 slabs.

The police are conducting investigations into the matter.
