The Ghana Olympics team departed the country to Brazil for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The country will be represented by 16 athletes at the Olympic Games Rio 2016.

Janet Amponsah, Sean Safo-Antwi, Emmanuel Dasor, John Ampomah, Alex Amankwah, Flings Owusu-Agyapong, Gemma Acheampong, Beatrice Gyaman, Szandra Szogedi, Dorcas Gyima, Abeku Gyekye Jackson, Abdul Omar, Kaya Adwoa Forson and Christian Amoah will arrive in Rio to a new apartment towers built to house 11,000 athletes and their 6000 coaches.

The site is complimented by swimming pools, tennis courts and bike lanes with founder of RSG events, suppliers of furniture for the athletes Paul Ramler saying the athletes are going to have everything they could possibly wish for during the Games.

Everything, including condoms. Yes you read right, condoms!

The International Olympics Committee for the 2016 Rio Games are supplying 450,000 condoms to the athletes who will be present at the Games.

With 10,500 athletes to participate in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, every athlete including Ghana’s representatives will be entitled to 42 condoms each.

That is two condoms per day with a remaining eight considering the duration of the Olympic Games is from August 5, 2016 to August 21, 2016.

The condoms have been made available but is performance going to be an issue? Performance for the various sports these athletes are taking part in not the one you’re thinking.
