Hollywood star Jim Carrey attended the funeral today in Cappawhite, Co Tipperary of his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White as her family and friends paid their final respects.
The star arrived in a blacked-out Mercedes people carrier and spoke briefly to a couple of locals as he entered Our Lady of Fatima church in the small Irish village. He was wearing a pair of dark, gold-rimmed sun glasses, a sombre black suit and dark jacket.
Carrey, 53, flew into Ireland yesterday on board a Gulfstream V private jet to say his final goodbye to his ex-girlfriend, who he once described as his 'delicate Irish flower'.
Following the service, Carrey helped members of Ms White's family carry her coffin shoulder high through the town.
As the coffin was lowered, Carrey hugged members of her family at the graveside.

Parish priest Fr Tadgh Furlong told mourners: 'We gather around Cathriona’s body in our parish church; all too soon, too early.
'In 1985 Cathriona was baptised with joy into this Christian community. We assemble now in a very different atmosphere to welcome her home. We gather in silent, sad, grief-stricken fáilte. At this time we welcome home one of our own."
'The circumstances of our being here today cause us great sadness and remind us how vulnerable we are. We need God’s blessing and the support of each other.'
The star broke down in tears as the coffin approached the cemetery where Ms White was laid to rest beside her father Pat who died in 2012

Carrey, pictured with Cathriona White, described the 30-year-old make up artist as his 'delicate Irish flower' in response to her tragic death
He said: 'Cathriona’s approach to life was to take on, to challenge the county, the country, the world. You remember the outgoing personality; the strong-willed, determined character. Cathriona was a light to so many. Something of the light has gone out. Yet much remains. The light continues to shine. The light of love lives on; the love you had for Cathriona; the love she had for you.'
In a tribute, her half-brother Tadgh said: 'She followed them all the way to LA, and you could not get any bigger than that.'
During the service, a lone tin whistle played a haunting traditional Irish lament.
In an emotional tribute, Ms White's step sister, Sarah, said Cathriona had 'an amazing capacity to love and to be loved'.
Thanking the community for their support she said: 'For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Sarah and I am Cathriona’s step-sister. On behalf of our family I would like to thank you all for coming today as we remember our granddaughter, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt and friend.
'When I started writing this I didn’t know where to begin. How do you summarise such an amazing life in just a few words?
'But the more I thought about it the more I came to realise that I just needed one word – love," Ms White said.
'Cathriona had such an amazing capacity to love and to be loved. From growing up in Cappawhite, through to moving to Clonmel and finally settling in LA, love remained a constant in her life from beginning to end.'
Ms White told mourners about her step sister's deep passion for Gaelic games, especially her beloved Tipperary.
'Anyone who has ever sat beside Cathriona during a hurling match will know her grá for GAA. She was a very vocal supporter.
'Anyone who saw her lurking around LA with a camera trying to capture the poor conditions in which the homeless were forced to live will know not just her love and talent for photography but also the desire that she had for the world to be a better place because she was in it, and it was.
'Her family meant so much to her. From following Lisa and James around as a toddler, right through to doting on Tadhg, Aoibhínn, Ciaran, Darragh, Cara, Kayla and Leah and all of the highs and lows in between – family was so important to her,' Ms White added.

Her step sister Sarah added: 'Cathriona was more of a Daddy’s girl that anyone else I’ve ever met and although losing them both in such a short time is unimaginably difficult for us we can take some comfort in the knowledge that Cathriona and Pat are together again.
'She is at peace. We need to find comfort for each other. There is no easy fix for grief. Particularly when we have lost somebody so young with so much left to give.'
Fighting back tears, she added: 'Cathriona – it is so hard to imagine life without you because there is no "without you".
'Thankfully, love is not as fickle and unpredictable as life is. As long as you are loved, you are here.'
'You are so loved.'
The tragic 30-year-old makeup artist described herself as a 'daddy's girl' on her Instagram account, posting several moving photographs of herself and her father.

Ms White, left, married cameraman Mark Burton, right, in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas in January 2013 without her family's knowledge
Mark Burton, 38, was listed as her next of kin on official documents but the couple had separated and were planning to divorce later this year.
Burton, a Hollywood cameraman, is understood to be a Scientologist, and has previously lived in Clearwater, Florida, where the church has its headquarters.
He now lives in the small town of McMinnville, Oregon, where he has not been seen since his estranged wife's suicide last week.
His home, an old-fashioned clapperboard house painted dove gray, sits in a quiet tree-filled suburb of the town of 32,000 people, in Yamhill County, south-west of Portland.
Burton has not been seen regularly over the last week and generally keeps a low profile. His white pick-up truck has not moved all week.
On their Las Vegas wedding certificate, White gave his home town as McMinnville. Public records suggest he was brought up in California and had also spent time in his twenties in Los Angeles and suburban New York.
Other public records suggest that he had business interests in California at the time. He has however held local hunting licences at a different address in the town.
Husband: Mark Burton is the 38-year-old husband of Cathriona White, but the couple had become estranged in recent months

Loved ones filed past the coffin, which bore a single framed photograph of Ms White, from 5pm to 8pm.
Next came the ‘removal’, which saw Ms White’s body taken by hearse to the Our Lady of Fatima Church, at the other end of the village.
Prayers will be said over the coffin tonight, before it is left in repose overnight in the church.
A burial plot has already been prepared in readiness for the funeral service, which will be held at 11.30am.
A Requiem Mass will be said for Ms White, before her coffin is taken to the church's cemetery for burial.

'There is no way that Jim would have taken her out to public places if he thought she was married,' the source close to Carrey's family told The Hollywood Reporter.
'As far as Jim was concerned, Cat was separated from her husband and was going to start divorce proceedings in December. When people are separated they date or do whatever they need to do.'
Assistant chief coroner Ed Winter told People that there were four prescription pill bottles found near White's body - none of the prescriptions were under White's name.
Three of the prescriptions were found under one name while the fourth was under a second name.
The name on three of the pill bottles was an alias for Carrey, law enforcement sources told TMZ. It is unknown what name the fourth bottle was under.
Winter previously told People that multiple notes - including one addressed to Carrey - were also found at the scene in her Sherman Oaks home.
'There were several notes found,' Winter said. And though he does now know what the contents of each letter was, 'There was a note [addressed] to Mr Carrey'.
A source told the Sunday People: 'Jim has been left devastated after the tragic death of Cathriona.
'Attending her funeral in Ireland will be the least he could do to pay tribute to the woman he loved.'
