Coach Oti Akenten is currently the Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, a position he has risen to after years of dedicated service to the development of football.
Regarded as one of Ghana’s most decorated Coaches, Oti Akenten has coached ALL of Ghana’s national teams from the Youth level to the senior level in both the male and female category and has coached ALL Ghana’s big club sides including former African Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak.
His passion for Youth development and imparting the basics of football at the infant level is unbridled and that has fuelled his desire to become not only a Coach but a Coach’s coach.
Oti Akenten has taken up several teaching roles from lecturing at the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana to becoming a FIFA National coaching instructor.
Armed with an M.Phil in Education and Coaching, Francis Oti Akenten has set his eyes on going back to grassroots football in a bold move to transform Ghana’s Youth football which has seen a downward spiral in recent times.
Coach Oti Akenten was recently elected onto the Confederation of African Football’s Technical committee.
