Gareth Bale’s agent has held talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to discuss the Welshman’s future, according to Spanish publication AS.

Jonathan Barnett, Bale’s representative, met with Perez on Wednesday to determine whether the former Tottenham player was to be sold this summer.

Barnett was also accompanied by his son and David Mannaseh, another emissary of sport management company Stellar Group company.

Bale has scored 17 goals and bagged 12 assists in his 48 appearances this season, but the 25-year-old has come under-fire from certain sections of the Madrid crowd.

According to the Spanish newspaper Barnett would immediately start plans for his departure if Perez gave him the nod, with Manchester United keen on Bale.

Louis van Gaal is set to spend, spend, and spend again this summer having already sealed the signature of Dutch international winger Memphis Depay for £25million.

A bid of more than £85million, which would be the most expensive transfer in football history, is expected to be in the offing for Bale with United keen to bag the attacker.

However, letting Bale leave the Bernabeu Stadium this summer after just two seasons at the club would not be an easy decision for Perez who has often defended the Welshman.
