They are a notable feature of the Ghanaian society and celebrated by
varios traditional areas and these are of special interest to visitors,
featuring prominently during this period are traditional drumming, dancing
and feasting, with masquerades. Associated with these festivals are remarkable
durbars of chiefs bedecked in gold ornaments. Most of the festivals that
take place in the southern part of Ghana happen between August-September.
