Live Morally Upright Lives--Youth Challenged

Nana Owiribofour Dankwa III, Twafohene of Beposo Traditional area in Ashanti has advised the youth to be morally upright and desist from acts that could lead to the abrupt end of their educational pursuit.

He said obtaining quality higher levels of education, backed by good character and moral values, should be the prime concern of the youth, especially, the Junior High School (JHS) leavers, who had just completed their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Nana Dankwa made the call at a reception he organized for the 250 BECE candidates, who just finished writing their examinations and their teachers, at Beposo in the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti region.

The candidates were from the Beposo Presbyterian JHS, Ghana Muslim Mission JHS, Boamah Kwabi JHS, Beposo D/A JHS, Living Word International JHS, Atwea Catholic JHS, Awanya D/A JHS and Jansa D/A JHS.

Nana Dankwah, who is also Assemblyman for the Beposo electoral area, advised them to refrain from teenage sexual activities, drug abuse, especially the use of Tramadol and other substances, since they could be harmful to their health and educational pursuit.

He promised to provide financial support to those who would excel in the examination to continue at the Senior High School level.

Mr Kwasi Owusu Kodua, a citizen of the town, who chaired the function, donated a trophy and an amount of GH¢ 400 to be competed for annually by the participating schools.

He also promised to assist the best candidate in each of the eight schools with GHC 100, when the BECE results are released.
