VIDEO: Dumsor Must Stop, But We Must All Work It Together, Kwaw Kese Advises Kwaw Kese

Hiplife star Kwaw Kese has broken his silence on the ongoing campaign by Ghanaian celebrities to protest the current power challenges in the country. Actress Yvonne Nelson and other celebrities from the creative arts industry largely made up of musicians, actors and comedians, thronged Legon last Saturday to hold a vigil dubbed #DumsorMustStop. The stars have widely been praised by social commentators, following the successful vigil which attracted thousands of Ghanaians to march from Legon to Shiashie in Accra.

In an interview with source, Kwaw Kese, who has been quiet on the issue and did not show up at the vigil, praised the organisers of the vigil. According to him, it’s so sad that in this modern era, Ghanaians don’t get power to do their work. “The dumsor is affecting all of us, and a Ghanaian, I have to voice out and let people know that we are feeling the heat of the dumsor,” Kwaw said. “One thing I don’t like about what Ghanaians are doing is that they’re raining insults on our president.

You know, the president is the first man of the country, let’s give him the respect due him; and we should all know that this is a national disaster, so we fight it together. Dumsor is affecting me and it’s affecting you…and I want to say kudos to my friends in the industry,” he added. Kwaw Kese hailed Yvonne Nelson, Sarkodie and those who showed up at the vigil to let the world know the effects of the power crisis on the Ghanaian.

He also stressed that the protest is not political but a Ghanaian thing. “Ghanaians are feeling it so let’s not politicize this, let’s make sure we fight this cause together and at the end of the day, Ghana will win and we’ll all be smiling. Dumsor must stop, but we must all work it together.”
