The Walahi Talahi boys, EnnWai and Paa Kwasi of Dobble fame started releasing their solo projects in 2016 to prove to the world especially Ghanaians that they’re no more together as a music group.
Prior to their split, Dobble released countless hits and performed on several big stages. Some of their hit songs include Walahi Talahi, Good Mood, Adiepena, etc. It’ll interest you to know that they were on the path of promoting “Christy” song before the split.
In reference to popular opinion that the collapse of a music group mostly causes the complete downfall of both artists. Paa Kwasi of the defunct Dobble music group has stated emphatically that he’s doing best as a solo artist comparable to the achievements of Dobble.
Paa Kwasi in an interview on Atinka TV’s Juke Box said his achievement as a solo artist is commendable because he has become a force to reckon with.
“If you’re mentioning top five highlife acts, you can’t leave out Paa Kwasi. That shows how impressive the progress is” he said.
Recounting how he executed his plan, he told the host, Oforiwaa that “when you’re starting, it’d be hard for people to accept what you’re bringing. I called myself established up and coming artiste because I’m not new but I’m starting from a different point. As time goes on, people will get used to it.”
He continued, “For me, it has been quicker than I thought. In less than two years, I’ve won awards, been to places” adding that he is happy as a solo artist because his achievements are bigger than Dobble’s.
