Having Buvac on board will be a significant boost for Klopp, who has been overseeing training since Monday with Peter Krawietz and Pep Lijnders.

Buvac, who has been nicknamed 'The Brain' due to his tactical knowledge and has previously been described by Klopp as a 'master of every form of training'.

Klopp and Buvac have known each other since 1992 when they were team-mates at Mainz.

Buvac was an attacking midfielder who had spells with Rudar Ljubija and Banja Luka in his homeland before moving to Germany in 1991.

He played for Rot-Weiss Erfurt and then spent three years at Mainz before signing for Neukirchen.

After their playing career, Klopp appointed Buvac as his assistant when he took over at Mainz in 2001 and they have been together ever since.
